I was asked to create an image for Kansas City's Cara & Cabezas Contemporary Gallery's exhibition Now Knowing which was about artist's exploring the moment that they knew they were not heterosexual. . I view my initial exploration of my sexuality as a question that I was afraid to ask, full well knowing the answer. The question I posed was an eruptive force that both supports my understanding of myself and holds me locked between two distinct worldviews as being roughly defined as 'bisexual.' Forever seperated yet empowered through the freedom of being an individualist, the work is meant to give voice to one of the most invisible and alienated sexual inclinations.
